Ajmal Group) whose nikah was performed in Dubai on 4th September, 2002. We
convey our best wishes to the newly weds. |

bid farewell to Monojit (Chaliha), Linu and Arjun (born in Dubai on 9th
October, 1999), who have left for Mumbai on transfer (and on promotion) as
the District Manager (Logistics, Materials & Operations) for India for
the Houston based company Transocean. We convey our best
wishes to Monojit for his new assignment. (5th August, 2002). |

also bid farewell to Medhi Baidew (Dr. Santi Medhi of American Hospital,
Dubai), who relocated to India in August, 2002. (20th
August, 2002). |
| Yet
another adieu - this time to Mr. L S Konwar, wife Kabita and son Abeer, who
are leaving for Muscat (Oman) on 11th August. Mr. Konwar will be joining PDO,
Muscat in a senior position. We convey our best wishes to Mr. Konwar on his
new assignment. (5th August, 2002). |

Mumbai-Kolkata-Guwahati-Bangkok flight on 4th April, 2002. The flight has
provided direct link from Dubai to Guwahati via Mumbai (Mumbai-Kolkata-Guwahati) on
Thursdays and in the return directions (Bangkok-Guwahati-Kolkata-Mumbai) on
Mondays. (5th April, 2002). |

'Borgeet' - "Suno Suno Re Sura Bairi Pramana" beautifully rendered by Zubin
Garg, was heard a number of being played at 'the local 89.1 Radio4 FM'
station recently.
The song is part of the recently released Album "Bhumi 2000''. If you

on the subject of music, it is really nice to hear, these days, that too
quite often, the voice of 'Bhupen da'
(Dr. Bhupen Hazarika), in the two local FM stations HUM FM & 89.1 Radio
4 FM. The songs being played are from his recently released albums called
'The Complete Bhupen Hazarika' by Virgin Records, Mumbai and also from the
album from the movie "Gaja Gamini". |
| For
those of us traveling to Guwahati from Dubai via Kolkata by Royal Brunei
Airlines (http://www.bruneiair.com) now have a better
connection thru' Jet Airways (http://www.jetairways.com) - one can reach
Guwahati the same day by 9W 621- departure Kolkata at 11:10 AM and arrival Guwahati
12:20 PM. This is in addition to the two earlier daily flights available
from Kolkata by Jet Airways (10:15 AM) & Indian Airlines (10:00 AM). The excess baggage rate for the Kolkata-Guwahati
sector is Rs. 22 per Kg. (16th September, 2002). |

to Arman and Rokshana Hazorika who became
the proud parents of a baby girl today. We join the prayers with everyone
else for the speedy recovery of both the baby and the mother. (9th November, 2001). |
| Dubai (and other
Middle-Eastern destinations) are still not adequately linked to Assam &
Eastern Indian airports. For improving the air-links between Assam
(Guwahati) and the Middle-East, the concerned Authorities

Shopping Festival, 2002 for the Kolkata-Dubai-Kolkata sector. The return
fare, valid for travel upto 25th March, 2002 from Kolkata, is AED 1100
